Through Your Eyes, In My Mind
May 26 – July 16 – Reception Tuesday June 9, 6-8pm
The exhibition Through Your Eyes, In My Mind explores the ways in which one’s identity is created through their experiences. Illustrated by a series of personal narratives, the installation examines how self-perception is informed by external forces, such as relationship to mental health, gender identity, or religious background. It showcases works by Mercer County Community College photography students and alumni, inviting viewers to reflect on their own relationship to identity.
Participating artists are Gigi Wilburn, Dani Paglione, Benj Nelson, Elizabeth Barrett, Pepper Smith and myself.
– Julia Colonna, Assistant Gallery Curator of the JKC Gallery

The JKC Gallery is not only a part of the vibrant Trenton art scene and a destination for many talented photographers, it is also a teaching gallery and an integral part of the MCCC Photography Program.
This is the third show conceived, curated, and installed by the Gallery Club which is lead by its president, Julia Colonna, and currently consists of the artists participating in this show. This show, and the two previous shows, are a testament to the dedication of the gallery club’s members to the artist community of Trenton and to their desire to not only pursue their work, but to also learn the invaluable life-skill of collaborating and forming community, a skill that will serve them well long after MCCC.
